Flow Experiences (formerly XD: Experience Design) is a digital open access research-practice journal devoted to the exploration and advancement of human-centered experience design and strategies.

The mission of this publication is to bring together avant garde research, practice and catalyst ideas on experience design. Founded in 2014, Flow Experiences aims to present a creative mixture of interrelated perspectives from academic and industry researchers with practicing designers, developers and leaders.

The accessible style of the publication aims to simultaneously provide a platform for researchers and other writers to promote their work in an applied way for global impact, and for industry designers to present practical perspectives to inspire a global research audience.

The website features research, practice, reflections (‘passion pieces’), interviews, podcast episodes, book/media reviews – all of which can help everyone understand why experience design is important, who does it and where, how experience design is done in practice and how experience design research can enhance practice.

The journal has attracted a wide readership/authorship across multiple fields and industries globally, including (but not limited to) technology, travel and hospitality, entertainment and events, arts and culture, health and medical, nonprofits and charity, education, information services and lifelong learning, architecture, retail and personal services, business and finance.
